As you know, there are many dreamworlds we can enter into when we fall asleep – all created by our minds. Human life can be seen as a dream. We live in a world with a collective set of beliefs, rules, laws, cultures, and rituals. As babies, we start out with open minds, open hearts, and a more flexible sense of reality. However, due to the rote repetition of what is presented to us, we quickly become indoctrinated into the collective dream. And before you know it, everything has lost its sense of wonder and sparkle. Eventually everything will have its own label, its place, its use, its definition, and there will be hardly any room left for our godly creativity and the ability to create our own dream (what is truly normal). Most of us don’t have a chance at avoiding or escaping this collective dream. We are gods in training and infused with the DNA of our Creator. But you wouldn’t know it by the way of our dreaming. So many of us just don’t think so. We’ve lost our connection to this truth and the creativity that comes with it. Ultimately we’ve lost the potential to a beautiful reality. And now instead of following our hearts and living our own personal dreams, we live a life of mediocrity. Always upholding status quo and not living our lives to the fullest potential. We now care too much of what others think of us. We don’t say what we want or what we mean. We wear masks and costumes, pretending to be something we are not. Lots of fakery. Lots of acting. Lots of people pleasing.
If we could only be those Gods in training… If we could only be ourselves…
The question lies in who do you think you are? Are you a God in training or just a mere mortal made up of a mass of cells? Your self image is an agreement that completely takes over your thoughts and your actions. So it’s best to get it straight. What you believe about yourself will always determine the outcome of your experience. And whether you think you can or think you can’t, you are always right.
To chase away the limiting beliefs and the lack of love for yourself, it will be necessary to instill new habits and new thought patterns. These will become the new agreements within your mind – agreements we all make to ourselves. In his book the four agreements, Don Miguel Ruiz starts with four unique agreements which can have a powerful effect when implemented into your life. As a God in training, it is crucial that you master the power of self. These agreements are about having power over yourself, which ultimately affects your actions and habits in order to step out of the collective dream and begin to create the life that you want.
1- BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD
Your word is law. What you say, is what becomes. Your words have power to create and destroy. Therefore, respect the words that come out of your mouth and choose them wisely. Speak with integrity, don’t be a flake, say only what you mean, and do not use your words to lie and speak against yourself or others.
The words communicated to you will also impact you. Politicians and the media know this all too well. So be careful of the words you are consuming and filter what you allow into your subconscious mind. Stay vigilant and do not agree to those words that dis-empower you or give way to victim mentality.
Being impeccable with your word is more than just about being honest. If close relationships and real connections are what you seek, then you have to be willing to be open and to speak from the heart. Your word is an expression of your internal being and becomes the energy you put out into the universe. Contrary to popular belief, we are all gods in training. We are all powerful creative beings. Your word is your wand and always infused with your intentions. They are a pure reflection of what you are and all that you say helps to create your reality and the world around you.
Do not put your energy into things that are not in the direction of truth and love. Do not belittle your divinity by speaking poorly of yourself. Wave your wand wisely. Place your attention on the things that are positive and constructive, so that your words will be pure, ethical, and always filled with good intentions.
Put away the gossip and become really conscious of how your words are impacting others. Hone your communication skills so you can learn how to better the world around you, and to lift and empower others. Influence yourself by being impeccable with your own words to yourself. Remember, anytime we use words in a way that’s not completely in alignment with truth and love, we are harming ourselves and potentially others. It is a choice you have to make every day. Will you use your words as black magic, or will you use them to create a most beautiful world around you? The choice is always up to you.
2- DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY
Nothing others do is because of you. What people do is a projection of their reality and who they think they are. After all, how could you possibly be a victim? Have you forgotten??? You are a God in training! Ain’t nobody got time for that victim shit!
Suffering from the words, actions, and opinions of others is a waste of your time and energy. Nothing they do is because of you. People can do what they want. They can say what they want. They can say mean things to you. They can say mean things about you. But Who says you have to react with hurt and anger? Who says you have to react at all? If your feelings are hurt, it can only be because you believe in what they said. You don’t have to buy into anyone’s reality, because after all it’s not about what others think. It’s about what you think.
When it comes to constructive criticism, view it as information, and only that. When you have enough confidence in yourself, when you know that you are a god in training, you can listen to criticism without taking it so personally. There will be many times you will benefit by listening to what others have to say about you, but it’s never a reason to feel guilty, resentful, or embarrassed. It’s never a reason to disregard the beautiful being that you are by shitting on yourself.
You have to understand that many people walk around with feelings of inadequacy and simply cannot keep from lashing out from time to time. That’s not your business and not your problem!
So get clear about who you are so that what others think, say, or do cannot affect you. It is only when you know yourself that others do not have the power to push your buttons. It’s is only when you know you are a god in training that you will not take anything personally.
“What other people say or think about you is none of your business.”
3- DO NOT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS
Assumptions will usually set us up for a world of hurting and tomfoolery. How many times have we created dramas out of nothing? This is how we suffer mentally and emotionally. We hear what we want to hear and see things as we want to see things, without checking the facts. When in doubt, it’s always best to ask others for clarification. If you’re not sure, find out. You can always confirm things by repeating back what someone said to you. We get delusional and create fantasies when we make assumptions. We assume people should know what we think and what we want. And then we get all worked up when they don’t do what we want. Uh, no… First of all people are not mind readers. Second of all, they are not your genie in a bottle there to grant your every wish!
Again communication is key. So ask questions and express what you want. Then wait for the response. If others are in agreement, then great! If not, then great too! At least now you know. Answers are what you want, not the compliance. So don’t be afraid of asking questions. Don’t get scared of rejection. Don’t shy away from criticism. And learn how to agree to disagree with others.
One last thing – We understand what you believe to be true is so. But always check to make sure that what you know is true and not some made up concoction from the depths of your mind or some lie that you’ve been spoon-fed by the media, your government, your clergy, or your beloved schoolteacher. Take the responsibility to clarify things for yourself. Do your own research, and begin the process of freeing your mind from all the illusions and false realities you’ve been indoctrinated with since birth.
“When you assume, you make an ASS out of U and ME.”
4- ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST
Your life is unique and everyday will look different for each and everyone of us. Your life is an opportunity. An opportunity to learn and to grow by making the most of what you’ve been given. Who cares if you don’t have everything you want? Who cares if you don’t have it all figured out yet? Who cares if you’re not perfect? Your best at the present moment is all that is needed and all that matters.
No, the stars do not have to be perfectly aligned for you to make the most of what you have. As the old saying goes, there is a time and season to every purpose. Know that your best will always vary at different points in your life. Some days you may be burdened with responsibility. Some days you may not be feeling well. And some days you are just bursting with joy, excitement, and are full of energy! Simply do your best, no matter what the circumstances and know that you’ve already been given the tools that will take you to the next level of your journey. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect before you make use of your tools. That perfection may never come and the longer you wait, the slimmer the opportunity.
“You can’t get something for nothing.”
The universe sends out a reward only when you who choose to multiply what you already have. Accept and embrace your current circumstance. By being grateful for your experience, your lessons, and your opportunity, you will always do your best at every moment.
So put away the grief, the bitterness, and give some props to yourself.
Know that when you choose to do your best at all times, there will be no more room left for any disappointment or regrets in your life.
